My experience exceeded my expectations and has had a beautiful impact on my life. It was amazing to meet a community of like-minded people and to feel supported at all times — I will cherish those memories forever and I am eager to signup for my next RY adventure!
Thank you Remote Year!!! The team was wonderful, the accommodations were great, and I really felt part of the city for a month. I loved wandering around with amazing sights around every corner, and it was great to know there were others I could meet up with for a drink or a meal if I felt like it. Keep up the amazing work!
Remote Year provided a great framework to make my stay in Japan memorable. The preparation, great accommodations to live and work from, teaching us important customs and phrases, and a variety of events to expose us to different historical and modern experiences there.
I really enjoyed Sake Tasting; it felt like a local experience and would have been hard to find as a foreigner (most breweries don’t offer this type of tasting).Taking the trains to experiences is an excellent choice and made me feel like I was traveling like a local would.
The food, sakura, workspace, Osaka in general. There’s too many things about Japan that’s amazing. Expectations were beat!
If you’re on the fence about whether you should go — do it. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into, but wow, what a life changing experience. I loved that I could do my own thing or have a built in community — I did a bit of both. I truly got to live like a local and meet some awesome people along the way.
