A future of work movement is born

‍Our story started in August 2014 when two friends asked a simple question, “Who wants to travel together for a year while working remotely?” They launched a basic website to gauge the interest and immediately received 25,000 applications. They immediately knew that they had stumbled onto a big need and Remote Year was officially born.

Remote Year has launched over 60 programs and helped thousands of professionals explore living a more fulfilling life in 37 cities, 30 countries, and 5 continents.
