WEATHER DEPENDENT
In Sri Lanka, the end of November falls within the northeast monsoon season, which generally brings cooler and drier weather to the island’s east coast and central regions. However, it’s important to note that weather patterns can vary across different parts of the country. In general, during this time, you can expect pleasant temperatures and lower humidity in most areas, including popular tourist destinations such as Colombo, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya. Rainfall may still occur, particularly in the northern and eastern regions, but overall, the weather tends to be favorable for travel and outdoor activities. If there is a disruption due to weather we reserve the right to adjust the itinerary as needed and will always keep the experience and customer safety first priority.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
Challenging – This is a mental and physical adventure that demands agility, endurance, and adaptability. It doesn’t require professional driving skills but does involve navigating a Tuk Tuk across varying terrains and traffic. It’s less about speed, more about embracing the journey and the cultural adventure it offers. This challenge is for the brave and the daring, those who thrive on the unexpected and cherish unforgettable memories. Adventure awaits!
SPECIAL CLOTHING/ITEMS REQUIRED
Yes – Comfortable and durable clothing. Lightweight, breathable fabric is key in Sri Lanka’s tropical climate. Sun protection like a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are crucial. Swim suit is a good idea. Pack rain gear for unpredictable weather too. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Also, remember to respect local customs – bring modest attire for religious sites.
SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
No, we will try our best to accommodate most dietary needs if given enough notice.
EXTRA CASH
Needed for lunches, tipping or extra spending. Tipping is not mandatory in Sri Lanka, but it is generally appreciated for good service. While it is not expected to tip in every situation, such as at small local eateries or street food stalls, it is customary to leave a small gratuity in hotels, upscale restaurants, and for services like tour guides or drivers. A typical tip amount is around 10% of the bill or a small amount in local currency. Some establishments may include a service charge in the bill, in which case an additional tip may not be necessary. As lunches are not included it is expected to be spending $100 to $150 extra. We suggest keeping $200 handy for lunches, drinks, souvenirs, tips, etc
ACCOMMODATION
We’ll be staying in a 4-5 star hotel and glamping sites. Room types available are Shared Room with Double Beds or Private Room at an additional cost.
TRANSPORTATION
Flights are not included. You will be responsible for meeting at the starting point in Sigiriya. You will be responsible for meeting us at the hotel and finding your way to the airport at the end of the trip.
