WEATHER DEPENDENT
Wondering if Mother Nature might rain on our parade? Don’t worry about it! Our Oaxaca adventure is a ‘go’ come rain or shine. We’ve crafted this trip to be resilient, just like our nomadic spirit. So, whether the sun is splitting the sky or the clouds are having a bit of a moment, we’ve got you covered. Just bring your adventurous spirit and let’s embrace the unexpected together – because that’s part of the fun, right?

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
No need to sweat it (literally)! This itinerary is a gentle stroll, perfect for those of us who aren’t quite ready for mountain scaling or marathon running. As long as you’re comfortable with walking and ready to be on the move, you’ll fit right in! So, lace up those comfy shoes, and get ready to immerse in Oaxaca’s vibrant charm at a pace that suits you.

SPECIAL CLOTHING REQUIRED
You’re headed to Oaxaca in October! You’re in for a treat as this is when you catch the tail end of the rainy season and the dawn of the dry season. So, what to toss in your suitcase? I’m glad you asked! Think lightweight layers, stuff you can add on when a cool breeze catches you, or peel off as the sun graces us with its presence. Got a fancy waterproof jacket? Perfect, bring it along! And let’s not forget those comfy shoes for all the exploring we’ll be doing. Sunscreen, a hat, sunnies? Yes, yes, and yes – the sun is always ready to party in Oaxaca. And speaking of parties, we’re sure you’ve got some fun and vibrant clothes for celebration tucked away in your wardrobe. Let’s see those! Just keep in mind to wear respectful attire that honors the spirit of local events. Remember, as a savvy adventurer, you’re equipped with excitement and resourcefulness. A quick look at the local forecast before you leave will have you all set for whatever the weather brings.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
If you’ve got special dietary needs, we’ve got your back. All you need to do is give us a heads-up in advance. We’ll do our darndest to ensure your food is just the way you need it. So whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or on a keto kick, we’ll swing into action and do our best to accommodate you. Because, hey, part of the adventure is trying new foods, right? And we want to make sure you can dive right in!

EXTRA CASH
Remember to earmark a bit of extra budget for those unexpected delights. Picture this: trying a tantalizing street taco, raising a toast to your adventure in a local eatery, or splashing out for a meal at a top-tier Oaxacan restaurant, which might set you back anywhere from $8 to $50, excluding drinks and gratuity. But hey, it’s all part of the experience! Don’t forget to factor in the unplanned-yet-necessary costs – like travel insurance, possible health needs, and a little something for our fabulous local guides. After all, flexibility and a dash of indulgence make for the perfect adventure, especially when you’re exploring Oaxaca, Remote Year style!

ACCOMMODATION

Imagine yourself settled into a charming, family-owned hotel nestled in the welcoming neighborhood of La Merced, just a quick 10-minute stroll from the city’s historic center. La Merced is a treasure trove of local charm and our top pick for the city’s best market. Not only that, but you’re a stone’s throw away from the Textile Museum of Oaxaca and the San Pablo Cultural Center – just 3 blocks away. Oh, and did we mention? You’ll be close to Oaxaca’s Main Cemetery, the epicenter of the city’s vibrant Day of the Dead celebrations on November 1st and 2nd. The air will be fragrant with cempasúchil flowers, and the nights will hum with music and candles. Foodies, take note! La Merced and its surrounding neighborhoods are a food-lover’s paradise, brimming with amazing places to tuck into local cuisine and sip on traditional beverages. As for your room, you’ll enjoy all the creature comforts, including A/C, a safe and Wifi. While we can’t promise you’ll be streaming videos all day, the connection should suffice for staying in touch and sharing all your amazing moments. After all, you’re here for the adventure, right? Choose from one of the three Room types: Private Room King or Double Bed, Shared Room Twin or Double Bed. Add a Guest – Anyone who books a Private Room can “Add a Guest” who will share a room with them.

TRANSPORTATION

Flights are not inlcuded. All the ground transport to our planned activities are included in your trip. That’s right! No hassle, no stress, just sit back and enjoy the ride to all the itinerary’s hotspots. As for Arrival Day, consider it your own adventure! You’ll navigate your way to our charming hotel wherever you’re coming from, embracing the rhythm of Oaxaca from the moment you arrive. Once the trip with us wraps up, you’ll carry on to your next destination independently. But don’t worry, by then you’ll be an Oaxaca whiz, and who knows? You might even blend in as a local!

FLIGHT BOOKING INFORMATION
When it comes to flights, we love to keep things flexible because, let’s face it, adventures are rarely one-size-fits-all. That’s why we don’t recommend specific flights. Your destination? Xoxocotlán International Airport (OAX), from here you’ll be a short taxi ride away to the hotel. Please hold off on clicking that ‘book flight’ button until we’ve officially given the trip the green light via email. It’s just one of those little precautions to make sure everything’s set before you start planning. **IMPORTANT: Flights should not be booked until this trip has officially been confirmed by email.**
