Studies show that LGBTQ+ travelers face challenges while traveling. At Remote Year, we’re focused on creating a safe community of remote workers from all walks of life. We’re proud that 15% of our community and 35% of our team identifies as LGBTQ+ with over 90% rating as trips as life-changing. However, we wanted to create an even more intentional space where LGBTQ+ travelers can connect. This month will allow the group to connect more deeply with other people who believe that LGBTQ+ experiences should not only be accepted, but also celebrated with queer-friendly and vibrant Mexico City as the backdrop.
Curated Social Activities
Meeting new people can be daunting, but we make it easy with getting-to-know-you activities so you can feel connected, safe, and comfortable with each other.
Local Connections
Not only will you connect with each other, Omar will be introducing you to his impressive local network and friends to spark discussion, learning and inspiration.
Positive Impact
During the month, there will be opportunities to take part in Positive Impact events, which will give back to the LGBTQIA+ community in Mexico City and are a highlight to the city.
Local experiences, weekend adventures, and amenities thoughtfully curated by our local teams to provide you with diverse options to get the most out of every month. All optional, all up to you.

This was my first time working remote. The whole experience cultivated a tight-knit community. I have made lifelong friends and indispensable business connections. As a native, Giral really made us all feel at home and was the ultimate tour guide and instant best friend.
CDMX is just amazing. The RY apartments are mind blowing. Each 3 bedroom could fit 30 ppl (we did that a few times.) RY never ceases to amaze me in how well they choose their city guides. Giral was our city leader and did everything to give us an unforgettable experience.
The RY team created such an open and accepting environment and supportive and welcoming community! I was newly exploring my queer identity. I felt so safe showing up as my most authentic self in a group of “strangers”, that I even surprised myself!
The people that join RY are so diverse. I’ve gained new friendships, but also an appreciation for just how diverse the community is. Remote Year brings together people from all walks of life and that includes the LGBTQ community.

Coming from India, Mexico is not somewhere I’d explore soon if it wasn’t for RY. I fell in love with the city, the food, the weather and the people. Best city leaders I’ve had at RY who crafted the best experiences, were always available and just became great friends.
