I became a morning person here as I couldn’t wait to get outside and see the volcanoes, colonial era churches and the ruins. The thing I wasn’t prepared for was how touched I was by the Mayan culture. There was an energy from being in historic and spiritual settings that engulfed me.

Antigua was an amazing experience! The side trips were unforgettable – like the day we spent with the Gonzalez family at their coffee farm – Josh created opportunities to connect across cultures and fall in love with his country. All the Remote Year staff worked hard to create community, make sure we had what we needed, and forge lifelong bonds in the group. I wish I could keep traveling with them!
