Trying special moles, watching chocolate being made, tasting a million different kinds of mezcal, building a Dia de Muertos altar with a Oaxacan family, I could go on and on. I really don’t think you should either miss Dia de Muertos in Oaxaca or try to do it on your own. You just wouldn’t get as neat or immersive an experience.
