Our Positive Impact – Remote Year
All programs now more flexible and affordable than ever, starting at $549

It’s not just about seeing the world — it’s about making the world better together. We understand the power travel has in making positive change, and we are driven by a vision of a prosperous future for our planet and its people. We believe that all human beings should enjoy fulfilling lives and seek to ensure that our economic, social, and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature. As part of creating compassionate communities, we are committed to giving back to the places we visit and the local communities we encounter. We do this each month by facilitating participation in local initiatives and partnerships tailored to the unique needs of each destination.

Provide positive impact experiences in each destination
We are committed to incorporating at least one positive impact experience into each program month and destination. Our handpicked positive impact experiences are often a highlight for our travelers, and we are proud to give back to the communities that welcome us around the world.
Partner with local vendors in local communities
Our City Teams aim to always partner directly with trusted local businesses, vendors, and individuals for all of our curated Remote Year experiences. This way, we can be sure that the economic impact of our experiences remains within the communities we visit.
Fund climate projects and offset carbon emissions
We’ve teamed up with Ecologi, an environmental conservation organization and B-corp dedicated to funding impactful climate solutions across the globe. Together, we make it easy for Remote Year travelers to mitigate their environmental impact as they travel the world.
The top reason I chose to travel with Remote Year were the impact opportunities built into the program
Other than community, the top reason I chose to travel with Remote Year were the impact opportunities built into the program. I loved the idea of being able to contribute while learning from a community, and I wanted to volunteer abroad in a smart and realistic way. Many of the Remote Year positive impact projects touched different interests within our group, so everyone was able to engage.
Heidi L, 12-month Journey
The value that a program participants can have on a community they visit is enormous
The value that a talented group of Remote Year program participants can have on a community they visit is enormous. I believe identifying and utilizing individual skill sets to help with local initiatives can have a fundamental impact on the lives of those in the community. Groups can create projects leveraging their areas of expertise and partner with established charities to have long-lasting impacts and legacies in communities.

Global Accelerator Program for Black and Minority Entrepreneurs
Together our dynamic teams will lead In the Black, a first-of-its-kind 8-week program aimed to support Black and minority entrepreneurs in the travel and hospitality industries. The first cohort will bring 15-20 US-based startup founders to South Africa later this year where they will meet up with local South African entrepreneurs in Cape Town and Johannesburg for a truly international collaboration. Participants will be afforded the opportunity to immerse themselves in a diverse community while receiving the proper tools, weekly training and hands-on mentorship to propel their businesses forward.
Applications for the program are now open and will close in May.
